BOOKS IN LIMBO
For the exhibition, Books In Limbo at Tank, the gallery was filled with around 2000 books, salvaged from a skip. A group of artists and artists, poets, teachers and non art based professionals were invited to react to them in way way they wished. Although each person had a unique contribution, we all worked together to achieve not only each others individual ideas, but to make the space one unified installation.
Thus no titles were given to artworks and no work was attributed to any particular artist in any of the galley literature or on display. To find out who particular parts of the work were attributed to required the viewer to ask the artists or gallery staff. Aoife's focused on constructing a wall of knowledge with two different paths above and below the table. On the desk and hidden in the wall are book works by Sally Kindberg, Clare Stanhope, Renata Kudlacek.
